Busy time of year | Children and Family Photography, Tyler, Texas

In keeping with the particular time of year, I've been in front of the computer almost the entire day.  In fact, my eyes are burning and my wrist is sore from working with the mouse  :)

I love the energy from this time of year.  It seems like many of my favorite images of the entire year come from October / November.  I don't know if it's the lovely colors, the many family sessions or just the general spirit of the season, but I am on a shooting high!  Since I'd be here all night if I posted something from each session, I'll just hit some of the highlights...

Tis the season for Holiday cards! | Tyler, Texas Children & Family Photographer

I am *loving* the holiday cards I am offering this year.  There is truly something for everyone - a total range of styles.  There are vintage ones, modern ones, traditional ones...  There are some with soft, classic colors, some with bold and bright ones.  Patterns, textures, are all varied and unique.

Text is fully customizable, and there is a plethora of card styles to choose from:  flat, folded, tri-fold, square... linen paper, pearl paper, glossy... so many lovely (and fun!) options to spread your family's holiday cheer!

Fantastic Fall | Tyler, Texas Children & Family Photography

It's a great time for a session, cool (but not cold!) temperatures, gorgeous color and I have recently found several *fantastic* new locations to shoot at.

On Sunday, I decided to do an impromptu session with my own two boys...at my new favorite location.   Examples from this session are a good indicator of how you really just have to step back and let your kids just "be".   I would probably be mortified if my boys acted like this in public, but honestly, this is how they are at home.  You know - silly, funny, very loud, slightly obnoxious little boys  :)  And this is precisely how I want to remember them.

I've said it before, there is certainly a time and place for "soldier" photos.  <aside> Soldier photos are what I call the kind of image where they have to stand really straight and turn their head to the left (or right), angle their shoulder and stand perfectly still in their button up shirt, jacket and little striped tie, strategically posed in front of azaleas or leaning against a tree.  Then, they are asked to say, "cheeeeese"!

But, that's not what I'm looking to capture.  And if you aren't either, then I'm the girl for you.

Fall weather! | Tyler, Texas Children and Family Photography

Oh, I am ever so happy to have cooler temperatures hit east Texas!  It makes shooting a session so much more enjoyable (for me and the subject!) and it gives a whole new twist to wardrobe!  Hats, scarves, bright sweaters, trendy coats, boots, tights, hoodies... I *love* it!

A quick note, I am starting to book sessions for holiday portraits, so give a buzz or drop an email if you are interested in booking.  I've put together a great "Gifting" collection, I'll post info on that in a few days.

Seriously cute | Tyler, Texas baby photographer

Oh, how they grow so quickly... you can see baby *C* here, just 6 months ago.  Now, here he is:

This is one of my favorite "poses" - chubby, naked baby playing with their toes  :) :)

Busy wrapping up the month, August was a blast!  The mini-sessions were a huge success and I was so happy with how things are coming along at the studio.  I have a really fun promotion slated for September as well.  It's a modern twist on a timeless tradition that I just happen to adore.  Curious?  Good  :)  Stay tuned for more information. 

Now onto a few recent favorites.  This shot came from the last August mini session, little *E* is another client I photographed as a newborn.  It never ceases to amaze me how fast time goes by...
